- Specialising in IT Governance
Education Services
Using established frameworks, illustrations and case studies, the Governance Education service aims to inform organisations about the need for IT Governance as a part of the enterprise governance regime, and to help individuals understand their role in governance.
Our offerings include:
Board/Executive Briefing - 2 hour presentation that introduces the need for, and explains the broad scope of IT Governance. On completion of the session, Directors and Executives should clearly understand WHY IT Governance is important, and WHAT they should expect by way of IT Governance participation and reporting. This session includes a high level diagnostic of the organisation's IT Governance performance, using the Business Change and Technology Governance Lens.
IT Governance - the Business and Boardroom Perspective Seminar - a full day presentation and structured discussion to position key IT Governance structures within an overall framework. On completion of this session, Directors and Executives will be equipped to ask important questions regarding current and future use of IT, will be better equipped to understand their organisation's specific IT Governance structures and will be better equipped to recognise strengths and weaknesses in the organisation's IT situation.
IT Governance - the Business and Boardroom Perspective Workshop - a full day interactive workshop. The morning session takes participants through a 30 point assessment of their organisation's overall IT Governance capability and outcomes. The afternoon session looks at the results and explores measures that might be taken to capitalise on established strengths and improve areas where governance is not producing adequate results.
Board/Executive IT Governance In Depth - this two day intensive session is ideal for groups with common interest and background, such as senior managers and executives from a single organisation. It combines and extends the content of both seminar and workshop elements of IT Governance -= the Business and Boardroom Perspective. The session is also ideal for Chairs of IT Subcommittees and Executive Steering Committees. Contemporary case studies are used to illustrate what can go wrong, and how leading organisations are implementing effective IT Governance. Attendees will learn to recognise weak and woolly reporting, to ask incisive questions about IT activities, and how to cope with complex technical issues. They will take away extensive checklists to help them confirm that they are getting the right information, and that they they can be confident about their organisations IT activities.
IT Governance Reporting - 4 hour interactive workshop to develop an understanding of the essential information that senior managers, executives and directors need so that they can discharge their governance duties. On completion of this session, attendees should be able to describe appropriate approaches to collection, filtering and presentation of IT Governance information for senior executives and the Board. Directors attending this session will be better able to articulate their requirements, and identify gaps and weaknesses in their current reporting.
Steering Committee Briefing - 4 hour interactive discussion to develop awareness in a project steering committee of the role it plays in Governance, the information it should seek from the project, and the guidance it needs to provide as part of its "steering" role. This briefing is aimed at business and IT executives and managers, as well as project managers.
